Eucalyptus 1.4

Apple approved the Eucalyptus 1.4 update yesterday, which allows Eucalyptus to use the full height of the new tall screens on the iPhone 5 and new iPod Touches. You should be able to get the update via the App Store now.

If you upgrade to an iPhone 5 from an earlier device then restore a backup of your old device to it, or if you upgrade from an earlier version of Eucalyptus that's already on your iPhone 5, Eucalyptus 1.4 will re-lay-out the books to fit on the new, taller screen. I've worked hard to ensure this process works well. …

iPhone 5 and Eucalyptus

Did you get an iPhone 5 today?

We're jealous - ours hasn't arrived yet, and we got our order in just a bit too late to be in today's batch. We're looking forward to using Eucalyptus on ours when it does arrive just as much as you are though.

The current version of Eucalyptus was, you might have noticed, recently updated for iOS 6. This is the version of iOS that's on the new iPhone 5, so it should work very well. You'll notice when you use it, though, that the book pages are the same size as they were …

Eucalyptus 1.3.2

Reading recent posts here, you might be forgiven for thinking that Eucalyptus had been forgotten. Not so!

Eucalyptus 1.3.2 was released on the App Store today. It's a small update that addresses problems reported by some readers having trouble downloading specific books, as well as some small visual glitches on iOS 5.

You might also have noticed new Reader Picks appearing in the app. Remember, if you have …

A Blio Update

A new update of K-NFB's Blio for iOS [app store link], which uses our libEucalyptus, was released today. If you're not aware of Blio, I wrote a bit about it when the iOS app first came out a few months ago. There are lots of great little additions in the update - both utilizing updates by us in libEucalyptus, and otherwise in the app itself. I'm really enjoying reading with it on my iPad.

Blio in 2-Up Flow View

The major changes are of course all listed in the "What's New" section in the App Store, but I thought I'd take a little …

Eucalyptus 1.3.1

Apple has now approved the Eucalyptus 1.3.1 update. This should fix the problems that some users with iPhone 3G and iPod Touch devices running iOS 4 have been experiencing.

Of course, Eucalyptus still looks great on the iPhone 4.
